About the Job

Our client develops and markets a Revenue Data Platform that is purpose-built to enable go-to-market teams analyze, visualize and action data without engineering support. Their mission is to transform how brands use data to drive revenue. 

The core platform team is responsible for improving the reliability, extensibility, and performance of this custom database, so that their customers can represent increasingly complex data relationships and turn those insights into revenue. They typically process multiple gigabytes of data every day and expect that volume to increase many fold in the coming months.

What You'll Get To Do

  • The clients infrastructure runs on AWS. 

  • Utilize Kubernetes and Docker for orchestration and containerization of services. 

  • Use Typescript and Kotlin for writing code and communicate via GraphQL.  

  • Use technologies like Clickhouse, Presto, Temporal etc. (strong bias towards using managed services wherever possible).

  • Build a distributed data platform that is reliable and extensible: The data platform forms the basis of everything that the app is built on.

    At a very high level, it includes:

  • A data ingestion layer that supports data extraction from various warehouses, databases and CRMs

  • A transformation engine that enriches this data with computed traits and last-mile modeling abilities.

  • A query engine that lets you filter and aggregate these transformed entities in milliseconds

  • A workflow system that lets you export and act on these results via 3rd party connections like Outreach, Slack etc. or via web-hooks

  • You will play a key role in making it feature-rich, stable, and scalable.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building high scale distributed data systems in a cloud-native environment

  • Love working in small teams with a strong bias for action

  • Be collaborative in a remote-first async setting and be a strong communicator

  • Have a knack for problem-solving and thinking from first principles

  • Love shipping early, learning from real world usage, and iterating

  • Hold a high bar for quality and simplicity and takes pride in their work
